Modern Administration Management- MoVe

Based on its realignment, public administration is faced with simultaneous challenges in terms of organizational and human resources development as well as the challenge of having to introduce new technologies. We, at the IAW Bochum, offer modules for modern administrative law, work and human resources management as well as organizational and technological design. The degree course "Modern Administration Management", based on current knowledge (from science and practice), teaches you to expand your competence in innovative administration management and apply these skills to handle problems encountered in practice. Are you an executive or do you wish to become one?

Learning objectives

The field of study "Modern Administration Management" conveys:

  • Management competences to actively accompany change processes at the interfaces of Human Resources, technology, organization and customers or citizens as well as
  • Methods and instruments to design structures and processes within the administration.

The significant characteristic of the field of study "Modern Administration Management" is its close link with the IAW's experience in research and consultation derived from the University of Bochum's "Research body for the modernization of administrative and public procurement law". In this context, the involved Chairs establish varying complementary priorities.

  • Designing organizational change, continuous optimization of technological application
  • Improvement of communication processes
  • Process and project management
  • Preparation, implementation and accompaniment of consultation processes
  • Planning, evaluation and implementation of innovations
  • Design and implementation of innovative controlling concepts
  • Use of Human Resources management tools
  • Managing competence development
  • Obtaining key qualifications

As well as knowledge in terms of legal outline conditions, options and limitations to change in public administration.
